The institute has considerably increased its outreach in recent years and is now looking beyond France’s borders to continue developing its partnerships, particularly with its European counterparts. Brussels, the capital of the European Union, embodies the connections among leaders, intellectuals, diplomats, and students and has been chosen to host the new IRSEM-Europe office.
Headed by Dr. Philippe Perchoc, a political analyst to the European Parliament, it will be a place for international dialogue in which experts can carry on research on strategic issues, engage in collaboration projects and organise events as well as a forum for joint reflection promoting cross-cutting dialogues among experts all around the continent and beyond.
It materialises IRSEM’s objective to remove barriers and bring together researchers from various countries. The new offices are designed to host events and give working space for French and international researchers. Through the research and the events carried out there, IRSEM will provide a forum for collective reflection addressing current strategic issues. By encouraging professional connections between people and cross-cutting scientific productions, we hope to make IRSEM-Europe an intellectual meeting point.
