Séminaire | « Présentation de l'édition 2019 du Asia Power Index »
Mercredi 13 novembre 2019
Global wealth and power are shifting eastwards, changing the way the region – and indeed the world – works politically and strategically. At the same time, an open and consensual relationship between the United States and China is now defined more by competition and zero-sum politics. How the balance of power plays out in the Indo-Pacific will have profound implications for war and peace in the 21st century. The conference will present a visual and analytical journey through the changing distribution of power in the region and its likely consequences. Hervé Lemahieu will discuss the findings of the 2019 Lowy Institute Asia Power Index. The project evaluates 25 countries across 126 indicators divided into eight thematic measures of power: military capability and defence networks, economic resources and relationships, diplomatic and cultural influence, as well as resilience and future resources.
Chair : Marianne Peron-Doise ( IRSEM)
Modérateur : David Camroux (Ceri Sciences po)
